Iowa Women's Wrestling crowned as National Champions for the second straight year

Hawkeyes win back-to-back titles in dominating fashion

Iowa Women's Wrestling is again at the top of the collegiate wrestling world. For the second straight year, the Hawkeyes have captured first place at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Tournament. They finished with a team total of 201.5 points, well beyond North Central's 181 points.

The Hawkeyes crowned three individual champions, and all 15 wrestlers were named All-Americans.

All three Hawkeye champions also completed perfect seasons in their weight class. Top-rankedMacey Kilty completed her championship run at 145 pounds with a 28-0 season.

Kennedy Blades was named the tournament's most outstanding wrestler after she completed a perfect 25-0 season at 160 pounds, and was named a champion in her first collegiate season.

Iowa's final champion was the180-pound, top-ranked wrestler Kylie Welker. She finished her season at a perfect 27-0 and became the Hawkeyes' only wrestler to win a national championship in back-to-back years.

The Iowa Hawkeyes were the top-ranked team going into the season and the National Championship, and they never faltered. Iowa completed a legendary season and was deservingly named as the National Champion.
