Former Hawkeye basketball player and current assistant coach Tania Davis received recognition from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). Davis was named an honoree to the WBCA's 30 under 30 list.
The list recognizes talented coaches who are under 30 years old. The honorees are nominated after displaying involvement in community service, professional associations, and their mentorship and impact on others.
Davis was named to the list after her second season on the Iowa Women's Basketball coaching staff. She is an assistant coach and the director of player development for head coach Jan Jensen.
Before joining the Hawkeyes, Davis was an assistant coach for Omaha Women's Basketball from 2021-2023. She was also a graduate assistant for the Clemson Tigers.
Davis played a critical role in the Hawkeyes' 2024 National Title run. She helps develop the Hawkeye players into role models on and off the court and aids coaches with day-to-day activities.
Davis played for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2015 to 2019 under legendary head coach Lisa Bluder. Davis averaged 9.6 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in four seasons with the Hawkeyes.
She was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team in 2016 and was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2019.
