While the Iowa Men's Basketball squad sits outside the Top 25 before the 2025-2026 season, expectations are high in Head Coach Ben McCollum's first season in Iowa City.
McCollum has been successful at every stop he has made, holding a career record of 426-95 overall at Northwest Missouri State and Drake, as well as four Division II National Championship titles.
Iowa has 12 new players on the roster this season, including 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer and Player of the Year Bennett Stirtz and 2024 Horizon League Player of the Year Alvaro Folgueiras.
Folgueiras was a member of the Robert Morris program from 2023 to 2025 before joining Iowa this season.
With Folgueiras leading the way for the Colonials last season, they finished with a sparkling 26-9 overall record, including a 15-5 Horizon League conference record.
Robert Morris also won the Horizon League regular season and conference tournament titles last season.
Before the Hawkeyes battle the Colonials, here are all the important game notes.

Game prediction
The Hawkeyes have a lot of question marks heading into the 2025-2026 season, but not enough for Robert Morris to come into Carver-Hawkeye Arena and get the upset.
Robert Morris will be without do-it-all forward Alvaro Folgueiras, and they lack the defense to slow down a high-powered offensive attack, orchestrated by Bennett Stirtz.
Stirtz will go off for 20-plus points, eight-plus assists, and add a few steals, while Folgueiras adds a double-double in his first game against his old squad.
Iowa will dominate this game and get their first win under new Head Coach Ben McCollum.
Final scored prediction: Iowa 86, Robert Morris 58
