The Iowa Women's Basketball program has the opportunity to sign a highly coveted in-state recruit. Jan Jensen and her staff have been swinging for the fences on the recruiting trail, and all their hard work could come to fruition.

After losing out on top point guard recruit Kate Harping to North Carolina, the Hawkeyes have not been deterred in their search for the next top guard prospect.

Iowa has already extended offers to three combo guard prospects and eight shooting guard prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, including top-ranked shooting guard prospect McKenna Woliczko.

The Hawkeyes do not have anyone committed in the 2026 class, but they have the opportunity to sign one of the top combo guards in the country.

Jenica Lewis, a five-foot-ten combo guard from Johnston, Iowa, announced she has narrowed her school choices to five, with Iowa making the final group.

Lewis is a top Iowa prospect and currently plays for Johnston High School. During her junior year last season, Lewis averaged 18.0 points per game and shot 47 percent from the field as she guided her squad to an Iowa Class 5A state championship.

According to Hawkeye Wire's Josh Helmer, the Hawkeye program has been heavily involved in Lewis' recruitment and she made an unofficial visit to Iowa City in February for Caitlin Clark's jersey retirement.

Shortly after naming her top five school destinations, CBS Sports' Dushawn London reported that Leiws has scheduled an official visit to Iowa City on October 24.

247 Sports has ranked Lewis as a four-star prospect, Iowa's No. 1 prospect, the No. 3 shooting guard, and the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

Rivals has ranked Lewis as a four-star prospect, Iowa's No. 1 prospect, the No. 5 combo guard prospect, and the No. 17 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

Regardless of whether she projects as more of a combo or a shooting guard, Lewis would be a huge recruiting win for the Hawkeyes as they look to keep her in Iowa.
