Iowa's recent recruiting strategy is starting to take shape as the program pushes for another elite pass-catching tight end.
The Hawkeyes have already locked up four-star tight end Jaxx DeJean in the 2027 class and recently offered elite pass-catching tight end prospect Caiden Snow in the 2029 recruiting class.
Iowa is known as "Tight End U" for a reason, and the program has been elite at identifying tight end talent. With that in mind, the program recently offered another solid pass-catching tight end prospect in the heart of SEC country.
Adding Ben Kolar would give Iowa one of the best TE duos in the 2027 class
Iowa's tight end production had gone down in recent years before DJ Vonnahme burst onto the scene late last season.
The tight end room is projected to be one of the strongest groups for the Iowa offense next season, and the coaching staff wants to keep it that way.

A few days after offering 2029 tight end prospect Caiden Snow, the program offered another elite pass-catching tight end prospect in the 2027 class.
Norman, Oklahoma, native Ben Kolar announced he received an offer from the Hawkeyes, growing his offer list to 22.
Kolar is a hot commodity right now thanks to his pass-catching, elite run-stopping, and willingness to be a solid blocker.
Kolar is a two-way star for Norman North High School, lining up at both tight end and outside linebacker, but the Hawkeyes are currently focused on him as a tight end.
He displayed a great willingness to block from the tight end position last season as a sophomore, and proved he can catch whatever comes his way.
With DeJean already committed to the Hawkeyes in the 2027 class, the potential for Iowa to have one of the best tight end classes would go up significantly if Kolar joins him in Iowa City.
Rivals industry currently ranks Kolar as a four-star prospect, Oklahoma's No. 9 overall prospect, the No. 20 overall tight end prospect, and the No. 375 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
