The transfer portal strikes again. The Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball program has lost its ninth player to the transfer portal since the 2025 season ended.
The Hawkeyes ended their season on a disappointing note after losing to Illinois in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. Iowa finished with a 17-16 (7-13 Big Ten) record and missed the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
A day after the season ended, Athletic Director Beth Goetz promptly fired Head Coach Fran McCaffery after 15 seasons in charge of the Hawkeyes. After McCaffery was fired, multiple Hawkeyes entered the transfer portal.
The number of players entering the portal is now nine after freshman Chris Tadjo has entered the portal.

Tadjo is a six-foot-eight forward from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is originally from Africa, but moved to Canada.
Before joining the Hawkeyes, Tadjo was ranked as the no. 37 overall power forward in the 2024 class by On3. While in high school, Tadjo attended the NBA Academy in Latin America.
The academy is designed for talented prospects in Mexico, the Caribbean, South and Central America, and Canada.
Tadjo is also a two-time Most Valuable Player of the All-Canadian Games.
Tadjo appeared in six games for the Hawkeyes in 2024. Tadjo averaged 1.2 points and 0.8 rebounds in 4.2 minutes played. He played a season-high 10 minutes in the Hawkeyes 112-70 victory over New Hampshire.
Tadjo tallied five points and four rebounds in the win.
Tadjo becomes the ninth player to leave the Iowa Men's Basketball program after Fran McCaffery was dismissed. New Iowa Head Coach Ben McCollum has an uphill battle trying to rebuild the Hawkeyes' roster
