The Iowa Hawkeyes Football program picked up a huge commitment for their 2026 class. Wisconsin wide receiver prospect Brody Schaffer committed to Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes on March 5.
He had offers from Northwestern, North Dakota State, Texas State, and Washington State, according to 247 Sports.

Schaffer thanked his coaches, family, and supporters on X, as he chose to travel to Iowa City for his Freshman season. The Hawkeyes were always the favorite to sign Schaffer.
Schaffer attended Winneconne High School in Winneconne, Wisconsin. He was primarily a wide receiver, but lined up at quarterback, and played safety on defense. He showed he is a versatile prospect, who can pay both sides of the football.
The 6 feet, 1 inch, 184-pound Schaffer is ranked a three-star prospect by 247 Sports. He has good size and speed and will look to make an immediate impact with the Hawkeyes, beginning in 2026.
Schaffer said his decision was made during his visit to Iowa City. He stated he immediately felt at home, and noted that he appreciated the way they believed in him as a player.
Schaffer is the seventh commitment Iowa has received for the 2026 class.
