The spring transfer portal window is closed, and fall camp is several months away, but the Iowa coaching staff worked hard on the recruiting trail. The Hawkeyes have nine commitments for the 2026 recruiting class, all on the offensive side of the football.

Four 2026 recruits play on the offensive line, including Iowa's top two in the class: four-star tackle Carson Nielsen and four-star interior lineman Hudson Parliament.

This week, Iowa Football is trying to bolster the defensive line, making offers to two edge rushers in the 2026 and 2027 recruiting class.

Aaden Aytch, edge (2026 recruiting class)

The Hawkeyes are attempting to flip 2026 recruit Aaden Aytch and made him an offer on Tuesday. Aytch is a product of Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana, committed to the Northern Illinois Huskies.

Iowa must fend off other Big Ten Schools, including Minnesota, Purdue, and Rutgers, who have also made offers to Aytch. If he reopens his recruitment, Aytch would make a solid addition to the Iowa defensive line in 2026.

Aytch, a six-foot-four, 220-pound prospect, is currently unranked by On3 Sports but is ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 84 edge rusher in 2026 by 247 Sports.

Jayce Brewer, edge (2027 recruiting class)

2027 edge rusher Jayce Brewer continues to climb in the prospect rankings. Brewer, a six-foot-five, 225-pound defensive line prospect from Indianapolis, Indiana, has already received interest from multiple college football programs.

The programs include Boston College, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Purdue, Tennessee, Toledo, Western Michigan, and Wisconsin.

He has only made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame.

After a successful conversation with Iowa Defensive Line Coach Kelvin Bell, the Hawkeyes made an offer to the 2027 prospect. On3 Sports ranked Brewer as a four-star prospect (No. 12 edge), while 247 Sports ranked him as a three-star prospect (No. 29 edge).
