At the end of an abysmal season for Iowa Men's Basketball last year, the program decided to move on from long-time Head Coach Fran McCaffery.
McCaffery was a breath of fresh air for the program after suffering under former head coach Todd Lickliter, but his firing was a necessary step after multiple poor seasons.
McCaffery's tenure had some good moments, but the Hawkeyes failed to win when it mattered most, and they never made it past the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
He left as Iowa's all-time wins leader (297) after passing legendary former head coach Dr. Tom Davis in 2024.
The program and fans have moved on from McCaffery, but one former player can't seem to do the same.
Fran's oldest son, and former member of Iowa Men's Basketball, Connor McCaffery, has been making a bad habit out of posting or re-posting anti-Hawkeyes posts on X, and his latest stunt was captured by media personality and Hawkeye fan Chris Hassel.

Connor re-posted a post by Iowa State's social media team on X that claimed "STILL OUR STATE" after the Cyclones bested the Hawkeyes in the annual Cy-Hawk rivalry game on the hardwood.
Hassel captured it and asked the question that was on every Hawkeye fan's mind.
Why does Connor feel the need to be so petty after being a respected member of the basketball and baseball programs?
This is not the first time Connor has pulled a stunt like that, and it boils down to the fact that he still has not forgiven the program for firing his dad.
There is no telling whether he thought his dad would coach at Iowa forever, but taking subtle, petty shots at the school that allowed you to play two sports and get a degree goes beyond loyalty.
As Hawkeye fans, we have a saying that goes "once a Hawkeye, always a Hawkeye," but Connor is really pushing the limits of that with his actions on social media.
It does not matter what your feelings are regarding a business decision by the Iowa Men's Basketball program, as a former Hawkeye, you NEVER re-post something that takes a shot at the Hawkeyes, especially when it's coming from a hated rival.
While it makes sense that he is not happy with how things ended between his father and the program, he should keep his pettiness to himself and focus on his Butler program, not on ours.
Iowa has moved on from the McCafferys, and it is high-time that Connor does the same.
