Iowa Baseball has been on a hot streak over the last month. The Hawkeyes traveled to Evanston, Illinois, to begin a weekend series against the Northwestern Wildcats. Iowa arrived in Evanston on Friday with an eight-game Big Ten Conference winning streak.

The Hawkeyes smashed the Wildcats 12-1 in the series opener and increased their conference winning streak to nine games.

Junior pitcher Cade Obermueller was the star of Friday's win. In the victory, Obermueller pitched a complete game and struck out a career-high 12 batters. Obermueller is the first Hawkeye pitcher to throw a complete game since 2021.

The Hawkeyes were flying high entering the second game of the series, and used their momentum to take game two of the series.

On Saturday afternoon, the Hawkeyes dominated the Wildcats in their 7-1 and picked up their 10th straight conference win. Iowa has a 10-game winning streak in the Big Ten for the first time since 2007.

Junior pitcher Aaron Savary improved to 5-0 after the win over Northwestern. Savary pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits, and struck out seven. This is Savary's third quality start of the season.

The offensive star of the game was the junior shortstop Kooper Schulte. Schulte went three for three from the plate with two doubles, one run batted in, and one run scored. The Hawkeyes have won all five Big Ten series this season.

The Hawkeyes go for the sweep against the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Central Time on Sunday afternoon. The game will stream on Big Ten +.
