There is no way around it: Iowa had multiple chances to beat Oregon over the weekend and failed to capitalize.

The loss to Oregon was the Hawkeyes' third of the season, all but eliminating them from the College Football Playoff.

Iowa had chances to seal the game and was even leading with under two minutes after a rushing touchdown by quarterback Mark Gronowski.

Several miscues and a poor defensive effort handed the victory to Oregon.

The Hawkeyes' defense has been stellar all season, but the Oregon rushing attack gashed the Hawkeyes for 373 total yards, including 261 yards on the ground.

Iowa will have to pick itself off the mat quickly as it prepares for a visit to Southern California to take on a challenging USC squad.

USC is currently on a two-game winning streak after dropping tough game to Notre Dame in week nine.

Before the Hawkeyes battle the Trojans in SoCal, here are all the essential game notes for Saturday's contest.
