When you know, you know! It is never too early to prepare for the future, and that goes for the Iowa Football program. Preparation for the 2025-2026 college football season has slowed before fall camp begins, but that does not stop the Iowa coaching staff from scouting future talent.
The Hawkeyes already have a solid 2026 recruiting class, with nine prospects committed. On3 Sports ranked Iowa's 2026 recruiting class as the No. 7 class in the Big Ten and No. 25 overall. Iowa has also made multiple offers to prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.
Over the weekend, the Hawkeyes hosted a football camp for future prospects, and one 2028 in-state prospect stood out.
Following the weekend camp, Iowa made him an offer.
Following his impressive showing over the weekend, 2028 prospect Jayden Stephens received an offer from Iowa Football. Stephens is coming off a solid freshman campaign where he excelled in multiple sports.
Stephens, a six-foot, 180-pound receiver prospect, has an exceptional 4.48-second 40-yard dash, 39-inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot broad jump. Stephens qualified for State Track in four events in the spring, including the 400-meter hurdles.
Stephens finished the race in 53.35 seconds, earning fifth place in Class 3A.
Stephens also excelled in football during his freshman season. As a member of the varsity squad, he tallied 250 rushing yards, 224 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.
After receiving his first Division I offer from the Hawkeyes, Stephens will attend camps at Iowa State (June 4) and Kansas State (June 19).
Stephens will be a name to follow during the 2028 recruiting cycle.
