Multiple Big Ten football programs are in turmoil at the midway point of the 2025-2026 college football season.
After a 0-3 start to the season, UCLA fired Head Coach DeShaun Foster. Foster and the Bruins squad had high expectations this season after bringing in transfer quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
Foster was a mere 5-10 in a short tenure with UCLA.
Penn State also fired their head coach, James Franklin, following a three-game losing streak, including back-to-back disastrous losses to 0-4 UCLA and then Northwestern.
Another coach who has not been fired, but is definitely on the hot seat, is Wisconsin Head Coach Luke Fickell.
The Badgers have had a disastrous season, including back-to-back losses to Iowa and Ohio State, where they were outscored 71-0.
As the Badgers continue debating whether or not to keep Fickell or let him go, the Hawkeyes are attempting to swoop in and steal a 2026 tight end/defensive lineman prospect from them.
Wisconsin commit Jack Janda has visits coming up with Iowa and Michigan State.

The Spartan visit is an OV. Schools are re-visiting him as a defensive lineman.

Even though 2026 prospect Jack Janda is committed to Wisconsin, 247Sports' Allen Trieu is reporting that he will take visits to Iowa and Michigan State.
Trieu is also reporting that multiple programs are re-visiting him as a defensive lineman instead of a tight end.
The Hawkeye program has been historically good at developing tight end and defensive lineman prospects, so it makes perfect sense that Janda wants to visit Iowa City.
Rivals has ranked Janda as a three-star prospect, Michigan's No. 35 overall prospect, and the No. 103 tight end prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. Their industry ranking also has him as the No. 796 overall prospect in the class.
247Sports has ranked Janda as a three-star prospect, Michigan's No. 16 overall prospect, and the No. 48 tight end prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. Their composite ranking also has him as the No. 812 overall player in the class.
He does not have a ranking for defensive line due to his commitment to Wisconsin as a tight end prospect, but he has the size (six-foot-six, 245 pounds) and versatility to switch positions at the college level.
