For the 34th straight game, the Iowa Women's basketball team packed Carver-Hawkeye arena for a tough home test against the #3 UCLA Bruins. The Hawkeyes welcomed in UCLA, who had won 9 of their previous 10 games coming in, and have 9 quad 1 wins to their credit already (tied for best in the Big 10 with USC). The Hawkeyes faced a tall task stopping 6"7 center, and former high school teammate of Addison O' Grady, Lauren Betts, who finished with a double-double, notching 22 points and 13 rebounds in the Bruins 67-65 over the Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes led by 7 points halftime, but the Bruins proved to be too much down the stretch as costly fouls and missed free throws sunk the Hawkeyes' upset bid. It was a hard fought game in front of a star-studded crowd, including former Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder and Super Bowl Champion and former Iowa Alumni Cooper DeJean.
