The Los Angeles Dodgers entered the 2025 season with high expectations after their World Series victory in 2024.
After winning World Series title No. 8 last season, the Dodgers were poised to make another run this season.
The Dodgers started the season strong, but came crashing down to earth in the middle of the season. Injuries to the pitching staff were the leading cause, allowing San Diego to close the gap in the division.
Los Angeles started September with a five-game losing streak, but closed the season on a five-game winning streak and held off a late surge by the San Diego Padres.
The Dodgers ultimately captured their 24th NL West Division Title and made the postseason as a Wild Card team.
One of the biggest strengths of the Dodgers team over the past few seasons has been their bullpen, and that was showcased down the stretch, and in their first postseason game against the Reds.
A key piece of their bullpen: former Hawkeye Jack Dreyer.

Dreyer had a stellar regular season for the Dodgers' bullpen, tallying a 3-2 record and a 2.95 earned run average with four saves and 74 strikeouts in 74.1 innings during the regular season.
During the Dodgers' 10-5 win against Cinncinati Reds on Tuesday night, Dreyer entered the game during a pivotal moment with the bases loaded in the top of the eight inning.
He started off shaky with a walk that scored a run, but closed out the inning with only one run allowed, which was attributed to Edgardo Henriquez.
Dreyer continued his great run of form, showcasing his value after signing with the organization as an undrafted free agent in 2021.
