Former Hawkeye Football alums couldn't get enough of Iowa's big win over Michigan

Iowa fans are likely still in shock after the Hawkeyes knocked off No. 18 Michigan in Ann Arbor, and they aren't the only ones feeling it.

Hank Brown said postgame that he wasn't really sure what to say about his game-winning touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee, but called the moment "the best feeling" he's probably ever had in his life. The Hawkeyes did the improbable by going into the "Big House" and knocking off a strong Michigan squad that outplayed them for most of the game. Hawkeye fans across the country are still celebrating, including multiple former Iowa players.

Several Iowa Football alums have shown the program love after a HUGE victory

Michigan dominated the game for three quarters, and it looked like they were going to cruise to a win. However, Iowa didn't give in and hung around just long enough to earn the win. The Wolverines had several costly penalties and gave up a special teams touchdown that cost them the game, but regardless of how it happened, the Hawkeyes are 4-0, and former players can't get enough of it.

Recent Iowa starting quarterback and current Houston Texans reserve Mark Gronowski posted a direct message in all caps after the Hawkeyes' win. He perfectly summed up what most Hawkeye fans were thinking, as the win was unbelievable. Gronowski was on the other end of multiple close losses last season, and it's great to see that he is still a strong supporter of the program.

In a short but effective post, former Hawkeye and current Philadelphia Eagles star defensive back Cooper DeJean posted two emojis to express his delight with the Hawkeyes' win. The first emoji suggests he knew the outcome all along, but it is a fun way to show he still supports the program after all his success in Iowa City.

"The People's Tight End" George Kittle has been an avid supporter of the program, engaging in several friendly wagers with teammates and media members. He and Brock Purdy have a standing bet after the Cy-Hawk Trophy game where they will wear something from the other program if their former team loses. He also recently made a friendly wager with Rich Eisen that he will wear Kittle's old college helmet if the Hawkeyes beat the Wolverines. Hopefully, he doesn't back out. It isn't surprising that Kittle posted "NEVER IN DOUBT" after Iowa's big win, and it will be interesting to see if he continues convincing opposing supporters to engage in friendly wagers with him over Iowa games.

In one of the more boisterous posts by former Hawkeyes, current WWE Superstar Ettore "Big E" Ewen posted a 16-second video on "X" that shows him screaming with delight. "Big E" played for Iowa football from 2004 through 2006 and has been an avid Hawkeye fan ever since. It is great to see "Big E" looking better after suffering a nasty neck injury that nearly ended his career and potentially his life, and he embodies what it means to work hard and overcome.

Arguably one of the best wide receivers in Iowa program history, Marvin McNutt also posted on Iowa's victory after the big win. In a simple but heartfelt post, McNutt said he loves the Hawkeyes and that the win was awesome. McNutt was part of one of the better offensive units Iowa has had in recent memory, and he likely appreciates Iowa's last-second touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee more than most people.

The Iowa football program is a tight-knit family, and former players always support it, regardless of how it's going. Although the Michigan win was massive for the program, the focus must turn to Ohio State, with a tough Buckeyes squad coming to Kinnick in week five.
