The Sacramento Kings are searching for answers after a disappointing end to the 2024-2025 season. The organization traded away franchise point guard De'Aaron Fox, and acquired Zach LaVine and Jonas Valanciunas at the trade deadline to pair with DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis.
Despite not having a pure point guard, the Kings looked poised to make a run in the playoffs. It was a big flop, and the Kings were bounced in the Play-In Tournament by the Dallas Mavericks.
Following the loss, General Manager Monte McNair was promptly fired, and was replaced by Scott Perry. On Wednesday, Perry found his new right-hand man.

Perry hired the former Iowa Hawkeye and three-time NBA Champion B.J. Armstrong to be the new Assistant General Manager of the Sacramento Kings.
Armstrong had an 11-year NBA career, spending most of it with the Chicago Bulls (1989-1995, 1999). Armstrong was most notably on the three-peat Bulls Championship squad (1990-1993), led by the GOAT, Michael Jordan.
Armstrong is also a famous Iowa Men's Basketball alumnus, who played under legendary Iowa Head Coach, Tom Davis.
During his Iowa career (1985-1989), Armstrong averaged 13.1 points, 4.0 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. He was most known for his three-point shooting, averaging 44.3 percent from beyond the arc in his college career.
The Chicago Bulls drafted him in the first round (No. 18 overall) of the 1989 NBA Draft.
After his playing career was over, Armstrong became an NBA agent before joining "The Hoop Genius Podcast," where Perry was a frequent guest.
Armstrong has no front office experience, but will attempt to turn around the Sacramento Kings organization that traded away their franchise cornerstone point guard, De'Aaron Fox, and recently made interim Head Coach Doug Christie the full-time head coach.
