After a long layoff following the Big Ten Tournament, the Haweyes are just days away from their opening-round matchup in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

Iowa is happy to put its 51-point drubbing by UCLA way back in its rearview mirror as they get ready for another Big Dance in Iowa City.

(2) Iowa welcomes (15) Fairleigh Dickinson to Carver-Hawkeye Arena after they learned they would not only earn a two seed, but would host the first round.

As a two-seed and with homecourt advantage, the Hawkeyes should not face any resistance from FDU, and the early betting odds reaffirm that they are little more than a speed bump on Iowa's path to advancing to the next round.

BetMGM projects the Hawkeyes as heavy favorites to advance

After Iowa's embarrassing loss to UCLA, it must feel nice for them to be on the other side of the projected odds, as BetMGM favors them by a wide margin.

According to oddsmakers at BetMGM, Iowa is a big 31.5-point favorite, predicting that FDU doesn't stand much of a chance.

Not only is Iowa the better team, but they will be angry after a bad loss and will be fueled by a raucous Carver-Hawkeye crowd.

I do not envy the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights and what they will have to face in Iowa City in round one, but it will be nice for the Hawkeyes to get back on track with a big win.

While odds are no guarantee of success, but when they are that skewed, there is little chance that they get it that wrong.
