The Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball team lost a heart-breaking game at home on Senior Night on Thursday. Iowa led at the half, but ultimately fell to the Michigan State Spartans 91-84 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
This loss comes after a string of losses where Iowa did not look competitive in games. They finally had a good first-half performance before falling apart during Michigan State's second-half comeback.
After the game, Michigan State's Head Coach Tom Izzo was asked about what he would say to the Iowa fans who want to move on from Coach McCaffery.

In the viral video, Coach Izzo stated that he loves Coach McCaffery. He noted in a world where we pay players, it is difficult to coach because there is more pressure to win. He says it's easy to throw stones, but he knows how he and the coaching community feels about Fran.
Coach Izzo stated he respects everything Coach McCaffery has gone through and knows what it is like when people want to run you out of town. He implored the "ten to fifteen percent" of fans who are making a lot of noise to think before they force Fran out.
He noted he needs Coach McCaffery to stick around because he is one of the founders of this conference, and he needs guys and coaches like him.
Coach Izzo is a legend in the Big Ten, and when he speaks, people listen. Iowa fans have become fed up with Fran, but Izzo stressed patience before running Coach McCaffery out of town.
The Hawkeyes will look to finish the season strong as they head to Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on rival Nebraska on Sunday morning.
