Surprise, surprise: Caitlin Clark has fueled Indiana's latest hot stretch of play.
Even though she missed a game against the Portland Fire due to back soreness, Clark has given us plenty of proof that she is almost completely back to her old self. After missing most of last season with multiple soft-tissue and lower-body injuries, she is taking over games in traditional Clark fashion.
After losing the first game of the season to the Dallas Wings and dropping two of their first three games, the Fever have enjoyed a three-game winning streak, propelled by Clark's play. Despite Clark's solid start to the season, the main thing on everyone's mind is her back.
Clark continues to downplay any concerns about lingering back issues
The Fever currently has a 4-2 overall record, with Clark leading the team in points (23.8) and assists (9.0) per game, but that is not the focus.
After multiple lingering injury issues last season, everyone is on pins and needles about Clark's health, and rightly so, but her latest injury update proves it is much ado about nothing.

After Clark was a late scratch for the Fever's May 20th game against the Portland Fire, it was revealed that the WNBA warned the organization for leaving her off the injury report. Clark was not initially on the Fever's injury report before the game, but ultimately did not play later that night.
As with anything related to her health recently, Clark has seemingly been bombarded with nonstop questions about lingering back issues, but according to her, it isn't an issue. She was recently asked about managing her back and responded that she is getting better at understanding her body and that it isn't a concern.
Clark and the Fever have consistently downplayed any concerns surrounding her back soreness, saying everyone is just playing it safe.
Don't worry CC fans, the sky isn't falling
Clark is not the type of person to be dismissive, and her words should be reassuring to fans.
After suffering multiple injuries last season, fans have legitimate concerns that something larger might be at play, but Clark isn't sounding any alarms just yet. If she misses multiple games, then we can be concerned, but until then, we need to pump the brakes.
Neither the Fever nor Clark is ignoring the issue, and they are handling it the right way by taking a more cautious approach, something they probably should have done last season. Clark is one of the most competitive athletes around, and if she can play, she will.
Clark has been upfront from the beginning, and as she continues to understand the signs her body is giving her and better learns how to manage any injury issues, fans, we need to be patient and trust that she is doing whatever she can to be on the floor.
The season is a marathon, not a sprint, and acting hastily is not good for Clark, the organization or the fans. We all just need to sit back, relax, and watch her do what she does best.
