Ben McCollum has been the star of the tournament so far because he wears his emotions on his sleeves. He was ready to fight Todd Golden in the second round Sunday and tonight the coach couldn't hide his thoughts after the Hawkeyes took advantage of a crucial defensive mistake from Nebraska.
First the play, Nebraska had late-game meltdown when Fred Hoiberg put out a lineup with just four defenders. Alvaro Folgueiras immediately noticed to mistake and went long and Kael Combs delivered the deep ball on the money.
MAMA THERE GOES THAT MAN.

I got nothing left man. Exhausted from this run. Give Ben McCollum whatever he wants. Hawks by a million.pic.twitter.com/KsfBKV4SEO
Folguerias completed the three-point play and just like that Iowa is off to the Elite Eight after a 77-71 win over the conference rival.
Ben McCollum keeps it real in the postgame
Sometimes the best results come from the things you don't see and McCollum admits that he wasn't counting how many defenders the Huskers had on the floor, but that's why he trusts the guys he has on the floor.
"That's part of toughness is not having your best stuff and then being able to turn around and our kids did."

"I didn't [see it] but Alvaro did, which is the guy is that needed to it see it," McCollum said. :"I didn't understand why he was so open and all of a sudden we threw it deep and I'm like 'there we go'."
The legend of McCollum grows in Iowa City with each win, but if you look at the man's history no one should be surprised. He won four D2 championships at Northwest Missoiuri State and had a 31-win season in his only year with Drake. The guy just wins, especially when a tournament is involved.
And let's talk about Folgueiras for a second. Is this guy a Hawkeye or what? He has been fearless in these big games. Battling for rebounds, going to the floor for loose balls, hitting game-winning 3-pointers and now he sends the Huskers back to Lincoln as losers.
If he can make some more key plays to get Iowa to the Final Four, it might be time to build the guy a statue.
