I know most football fans are staring out their windows, praying for some kind of football to return. While I cannot grant them that, I can take a stroll down memory lane to December 8, 2024 in a game where former Hawkeye and current 49ers great George Kittle had a huge performance. The 49ers had been plagued by inconsistent play, and what a better way to get back on track then to welcome the hopeless Chicago Bears to town, shortly after firing their head coach Matt Eberflus (as Bears fan, I can say with confidence it took far too long). Kittle had a HUGE day, recording an eye-popping 151 yards receiving on 6 receptions, leading the 49ers to a 38-13 drubbing of the Bears. Kittle would end up finishing the season with 78 receptions for 1,106 yards and 8 touchdowns as the 49ers finished their season with a lackluster 6-11 record (4th in NFC West) and missing the playoffs. Kittle and the 49ers will look to get healthy and start the season on a high note as they prepare for training camp around the end of July.
