The Iowa Men's Wrestling program attracts top talent, including multiple in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes.

The 2025 recruiting class is headlined by Leo DeLuca (125/133 pounds), Harvey Ludington (197 pounds), and Jarrel Miller (184/197 pounds). The Hawkeyes also flipped coveted prospect Claudio Torres (165 pounds) from Virginia Tech.

The 2026 recruiting class has three solid prospects, led by Bo Bassett (149 pounds), the No. 1 overall prospect.

As the landscape of college athletics drastically changes following the landmark House v. NCAA settlement approval, Iowa Wrestling continues attracting top talent, but will need to work harder to retain it.

In response to the new revenue-sharing programs beginning on July 1, the Iowa Men's Wrestling program established the "Flight Funds" program as a charitable avenue for donors to give directly to the program.

Part of the funds will be used to recruit top talent for the program, including the 2027 No. 1 overall prospect, Melvin Miller.

Miller is a highly touted prospect that every program wants to add to its squad for 2027. He has narrowed his choices to nine, with powerhouses Penn State and Oklahoma State joining Iowa on his list of preferred destinations.

Miller is a teammate of 2026 Iowa commit Bo Bassett and 2026 Oklahoma State commit Jax Forrest at Bishop McCort Catholic Academy in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Miller is ranked No.3 in the nation at 157 pounds, behind seniors PJ Duke and Landon Robideau. He captured the 2025 state championship at 157 pounds and was the runner-up at the Under-20 World Team Trials, falling to Robideau.

The Hawkeyes have failed to produce over the past few seasons, but signing Miller would be a giant step in the right direction.
