The Iowa football team will face the Michigan Wolverines next Saturday night as part of the Big Ten’s Champions Week.

The Big Ten announced matchups for the conference’s Champions Week on Sunday. Iowa football will host the Michigan Wolverines next Saturday, Dec. 19 at 6:00 pm CT. The game will be televised on ESPN.

The No.16 Hawkeyes defeated the Wisconsin Badgers this weekend in a 28-7 blowout. The victory extended Iowa’s winning streak to six games after the team lost their first two contests by a combined five points.

The full slate of matchups for Champions Week can be seen below:

Overall, the Hawkeyes are 6-2 and will have a chance to get to seven wins next Saturday against a 2-4 Michigan team.

Michigan hasn’t played a game in two weeks after a coronavirus outbreak has spread rampant throughout their program.

The Wolverines are having one of their most disappointing seasons in recent memory. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Hawkeyes were a double-digit favorite under the lights at Kinnick Stadium.

If Iowa were to defeat Michigan, it would have a strong case to be considered for a New Years Six bowl game, which includes the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Peach Bowl and Fiesta Bowl.
