Iowa football grabbed their second win of the season over Minnesota on Friday night. Watch the highlights here from the Hawkeyes’ 35-7 win.

There were plenty of highlights from the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday, as the team won their sixth straight game over the Minnesota Gophers on a brisk night at TCF Bank Stadium. The Hawks are now 2-2 on the season after starting the year with two straight losses.

The star of the game was running back Tyler Goodson, who rushed for a career-high 142 yards on 20 carries. Goodson also added in two touchdowns, his second game scoring multi-touchdowns this season. Overall, the Hawkeyes finished with 237 rushing yards on 34 carries. They probably could have run the ball on every play.

Quarterback Spencer Petras had another discouraging outing for the Hawkeye offense, finishing the game 9-of-18 passing for 111 yards, one touchdown and one interception. It might be time to re-evaluate Petras for the Iowa coaching staff. No Iowa player has eclipsed 100 receiving yards this season.

Meanwhile, Iowa’s defense intercepted Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan twice, meaning the Hawkeye defense has at least two takeaways in every game this season.

Iowa vs. Minnesota highlights:

The Hawkeyes only led 14-0 at halftime, but a strong second-half push from the offensive line helped the running game seal the win for Iowa’s eighth victory in their last nine attempts against Minnesota.

Iowa was up 35-0 with 0:19 to go, but couldn’t prevent Minnesota from scoring to preserve the shutout. The Gophers scored with 0:14 left after the Hawkeyes pulled their first-string defense on the final drive, even though Minnesota left their starting offense in the game.
