Prediction: Iowa wins 31-28

Iowa wins a close game. The offense continues to see success on the ground, while the defense forces a couple turnovers along the way. The Hawks have had at least two takeaways in every game this season, so Saturday should be no different.

Iowa has 58 interceptions since 2017, most in the FBS during that time frame. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan throw a pick at an inopportune time. Morgan has two interceptions in three games this season.

Defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon has been the best player on Iowa’s defense this season. Look for him to make a few splash plays on critical downs, especially in pass-rushing situations. Nixon has been a force stopping the run this season, but he’s also been outstanding rushing the passer. A 300-pound man shouldn’t be able to consistently do that, but Nixon has.

In the end, this game comes down to a field goal, and the Hawkeyes have one of the best kickers in all of college football on their side. Iowa wins 31-28 to keep the Floyd of Rosedale in their possession for the sixth straight season.
