After another win, we have two Iowa football players grade out as the best in the Big Ten with one of those grading out as the best in the country.

The win over Illinois wasn’t exactly as pretty as last years’ 63-0 thrashing the Iowa football game gave them in Champagne, but it was effective nonetheless.

If we’re being frank though, it was an ugly game. Four turnovers and three missed field goals combined were a bit rough to watch, but the Iowa football team pulled out the win 19-10.

For Saturday’s performance, two Iowa football players were recognized by Pro Football Focus as grading out as the top players at their positions in the Big Ten. One of those two even graded out as the best in the country, regardless of division.

Defensively, the injured Michael Ojemudia returned and put together a nice performance on Senior Day as he finished the day with 8 tackles, which was the second-best mark on the team and 1 interception.

The senior from Michigan was the lone Hawkeye to make the Defensive Team of the Week.

Offensively, it should come to nobody’s surprise if you’ve been paying attention to this weekly report out of Pro Football Focus’ rankings that right tackle Tristan Wirfs made the Big Ten Offensive Team of the Week after another dominant performance against a tough Illinois defensive line.

More impressive than making his 5th or 6th Big Ten Team of the Week was the fact that Wirfs graded out higher than any other tackle in the country according to Pro Football Focus.

His performance this year cannot be appreciated enough as he has been the lone stalwart on the offensive line this season for the Iowa football team.

dark. Next. Multiple milestones hit in win over Illinois

And while some are reporting that he is leaning towards coming back to school for another year, after a dominant season both on the tape and in the advanced analytics department, Wirfs stands to make a life-changing amount of money after his All-American caliber season.
