Fresh off a bye week, the 3-0 Iowa football team faces off against the 1-2 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at home. Here’s a bettor’s breakdown for this game.

The 3-0 Iowa football team is ready to take on the 1-2 Blue Raiders and Vegas doesn’t think Middle Tennessee State has a chance. As of now, the spread is set to Iowa -24 with the over/under set at 52.5 points.

After the Iowa State game, Iowa football fans were happy to exhale and take a much-needed break from football. The Blue Raiders come to town with a record of 1-2, and a (-23) point differential this season. Listen, theoretically Iowa should be able to take care of business and blow this Middle Tennessee team out; however, this could easily be seen as a look ahead game for the Hawkeyes, as they travel to Ann Arbor next week to square off with the #11 ranked Michigan Wolverines.

This week will basically be a live practice, with the purpose of fine tuning all three phases (Offense, Defense, and Special Teams). The Blue Raiders, although a 1-2 record, are not going to completely run over. The Blue Raiders are lead by the mobile quarterback, Asher O’Hara, who is surprisingly leading the team in both passing and rushing. The Iowa football team has not played a mobile quarterback so far this year, so I am skeptical at their ability to keep him in the pocket.

However, I feel that the Iowa football team will be able to out-muscle and out-work this Blue Raiders team. I believe that all three phases of the team will be working in sync, and the Blue Raiders will not have enough talent to keep up with the Iowa football team’s new and improved offense enough to cover the spread. The running games gets going early and the defense stifles Asher O’Hara and the Middle Tennessee offense. Final Score: Iowa 41 – Middle Tennessee 10.
