The state of Iowa is ready for today’s matchup between the Iowa football and the Iowa State Cyclones. Here are the game notes you need to know to get ready.

It is on to week three for the Iowa football program. It’s a big week for this Iowa football team, facing their arch-rivals, the Iowa State Cyclones. And for the first time ever, the national spotlight will be on these two teams come this morning, with the famous Saturday morning college football show, College Gamedayon-site in Ames, Iowa.

This will be the 67th match up between these two in-state rivals, and the Iowa Hawkeyes have a big advantage in the series, leading 44-22. The Iowa football team has won the last four meetings, with last years game featuring a defensive battle and not much from the offense as the Hawkeyes went on to win 13-3.

In all of the years of this match up, this game has been the most talked about. Cyclones were a preseason top 25 team and picked to finish third the Big 12 conference, while the Iowa football team was a preseason top 25 pick as well with some even picking them to win the West.

Kick-off for the Hawkeyes and Cyclones will be an afternoon one starting at 3 PM, and for the third straight game, the Hawkeyes will be televised on Fox Sports One. Announcers for this game will be Brian Custer doing the play-by-play with Robert Smith doing the color and Sarah Kustock working the sidelines. The game will be on Direct TV channel 219 and also Dish TV 219.

If you don’t have cable, you can also stream the game on FuboTV.

The weather looks good, albeit a bit windy, but injuries for this game are not in the Iowa football team’s favor. The Hawkeyes are already without defensive back Kevon Merriweather and they could be without starting corner, Matt Hankins. Kirk Ferentz said it will be a game-time decision. If Hankins can’t go look for redshirt freshman Terry Roberts or sophomore DJ Johnson to fill in.

According to Bovada, Iowa is favored by 1.5, and as of right now, our team is split on if we think the Hawks will cover.

This game between the two rivals will be very intense, and the atmosphere inside Jack Trice Stadium will be electric.

I predict a Hawkeye victory but it will be a 60 minute battle with Iowa State. Enjoy the game Iowa fans. As always, Go Hawks!
