The Next Go-to Receiver

Third down passing was a huge part of winning in 2018. Even if we have a running game this season, Iowa still needs to be able to effectively pass the ball in third and medium situations.

Last season, TJ Hockenson, Noah Fant, and Nick Easley were the three main targets. Unfortunately, all three are gone, so it’s going to be important to establish a new set of security blankets for Nate Stanley.

I’m interested in seeing who between Tyrone Tracy Jr, Nico Ragaini, and Oliver Martin plays the most out of the slot (my guess is that it won’t be Martin since it’s a week away and he has not been granted immediate eligibility). I would also like to see which tight ends are used and how. Based on the depth chart, it appears that Shaun Beyer will not be playing, so I’d be looking towards Drew Cook and Nate Wieting.
