The start of the Iowa football season is right around the corner so here are our three bold predictions for the Hawkeyes offense in 2019.

Let’s be honest, nobody actually knows what is going to happen when the Iowa football season begins in under a month, but we certainly like to try and formulate an educated guess.

Given the programs’ consistency at head coach, there are usually a few givens about what to expect from the team though. The Hawkeyes almost always have a tough defense predicated on stopping the run. Their offense, meanwhile, is a pro-style offense that starts and ends with the running game.

But every year, we see a few wrinkles or changes, and last year was no exception. In fact, Iowa football head coach Kirk Ferentz showed us last year that you can teach an old dog new tricks, which is why many were calling him New Kirk. Iowa was running trick plays, going for it on fourth down, and dominating teams with not one but two elite tight ends.

In 2019, I expect there to be a few more surprises we didn’t see coming, and that’s what I am here to predict.

Here are my three bold predictions heading into the 2019 Iowa football season.
