Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs would be like the rich getting richer. The Chiefs offense is out of this world, but the defense was a massive issue last season, particularly in the run game. Last season the Kansas City Chiefs rushing defense was ranked 27th in the league as they allowed 2,114 rushing yards at a 5.0 yard per carry clip. They also allowed the third-most rushing touchdowns in the league.

Kansas City has experienced some turnover on the defensive line replacing Dee Ford with Frank Clark, but there is quite a bit of talent there with star defensive tackle Chris Jones in the interior.

Outside of Jones and Clark though, the Chiefs are rolling out Saints castoff Alex Okafor at defensive end and 2018 third-round pick Derrick Nnadi at defensive tackle. Neither of these guys are world beaters, and for a team with Super Bowl aspirations, it might be worth bringing in a veteran guy like Mike Daniels who despite playing the 3-4 defensive end spot last year has the flexibility and versatility to play on the edge and on the interior.

More importantly, the Chiefs have $25 million in cap space so if they can bring in talent to a defensive line that struggled last year stopping the run, they’ve got to do it. They’ve got the money, and their Super Bowl window is open.
