Arizona Wildcats

There’s some history here, but I’ll be honest, it would just be fun to have an away game in Tuscon every other year plus there are a lot of folks who migrate south to get the heck away from the cold and snowy winters they’ve experienced in Iowa so there would be a good representation from the Iowa football faithful in The Grand Canyon State.

As for the history, the Arizona Wildcats and the Iowa Hawkeyes have surprisingly faced off against each other quite a bit. These two schools have played each other 13 times, which is good for 14th most in Iowa football history right behind Notre Dame, Iowa State, and the majority of the Big Ten schools.

Unlike Notre Dame and Missouri whom Iowa has played just one time combined in the last 50 years, Arizona has taken on Iowa twice in the Kirk Ferentz era and seven times since 1980.

Outside of the history, it would be great for college football to integrate these two markets and conferences as we don’t frequently see the Pac-12 and the Big Ten square off outside of bowl games.
