Iowa football fans are generally nice people, but that doesn’t stop them from disliking a few players. Here are five opposing players Hawk fans hate.

Even in defeat, the Iowa football team isn’t one to spew hate on another team, unless it’s prompted by a Nebraska fan on Twitter (I kid, I kid).

However, when you look at the past two decades under the Kirk Ferentz reign, there are a few guys who come to mind when I think of players I don’t like.

For whatever reason, these guys were either a thorn in the Iowa football team’s side throughout their tenure with the opposing team or they had one incredible game that ruined a magical season for the Hawkeyes.

Actually, it’s mostly the latter.

It’s crazy to think how close the Iowa football team has come to making it to a National Championships game or making it to the College Football Playoff. It’s not just once, but multiple times in the Kirk Ferentz era that the Iowa football team has been a play or two away from making it. In fact, Scott Dochterman of The Athletic just wrote an article about the “what ifs” in the past two decades.

So with a bit of a different twist on that, we take a look at the five guys Iowa football fans will forever hate for what they did to the Hawks.
