Madden 2020 player ratings have been released, and former Iowa football players were all over the board on where they fell with their initial rating.

The overall Madden 2020 player ratings have officially been released, and you better believe it’s been a mixed bag of reactions across the board. Some players are upset with their ratings, some players are pretty content, and some just find their ratings comical (more to come on that). For the Iowa football team, it was no different.

Previously, there were four rookies with ratings in Madden 2020, which we broke down earlier this month when those were released, and now, there are 23 additional Iowa football players added to the Madden list with ratings.

Guys on the practice squad bubble and undrafted free agents are still not in the game yet.

Of the 23 guys just released yesterday, here’s my breakdown:

Highest Rated: Marshal Yanda – 91

This isn’t much of a surprise. Yanda has arguably put together one of the best Iowa football careers ever. He’s a veteran player who is the model of consistency and talent. Since being drafted in the third round by the Ravens, he has been to 7 Pro Bowls and been named All-Pro six times.

Lowest Rated: Casey Kreiter – 40

This is also not much of a surprise, and it’s been sort of a joke for the Denver Broncos long snapper.

Biggest Surprise: Tied

There were two ratings that shocked me when I pulled them up. Here they are.

  • Riley Reiff – 67
  • Greg Mabin – 67
    • On the flip side, I was not expecting to see Greg Mabin’s rating be this high considering he’s been bouncing up and down on the 49ers roster. However, when he played last season, he put on some strong performances. Hopefully this year, San Francisco will realize what Madden already has about Mabin’s skillset.
    • Most Underrated: Desmond King – 86

Desmond King was the only player who stood out to me as being underrated. There are a few guys who I thought should be a point or two higher, but I felt like King should firmly be in the ’90s after a fantastic All-Pro season in just his second year. 86 is still pretty good, but it should be better, and I have a feeling if his outstanding play continues, he will be one of the biggest risers in-season for Madden 2020.

Here are all of the Madden 2020 ratings for all of the Iowa football players in the NFL:

      Marshal  Yanda – 91

      George Kittle – 90

      Brandon Scherff – 87

      Mike Daniels – 87

      Desmond King – 86

      Micah Hyde – 86

      Bryan Bulaga – 85

      Austin Blythe – 81

      TJ Hockenson – 77

      James Daniels – 77

      Adrian Clayborn – 77

      Anthony Hitchens – 77

      Josh Jackson – 75

      Christian Kirksey –  75

      Noah Fant – 74

      Josey Jewell – 71

      Amani Hooker – 68

      Greg Mabin – 67

      Riley Reiff – 67
