Reportedly, former Iowa basketball player Aaron White signed a new deal that would keep him overseas next season.

It’s been quite a July for former Iowa basketball player Aaron White so far.

First, his draft rights were traded to the Brooklyn Nets, where I thought there may be a chance he actually signs an NBA contract, and now a few news outlets are reporting that he is signing a new European deal.

Yesterday afternoon, news broke that Aaron White was close to signing a deal with Italian club Olympia Milano. Now it’s official.

Olympia Milano is one of the premier teams in the Italian League having won three league championships in the past decade. Last season Olympia Milano was a quarterfinalist in the Italian Cup and finished 12th in the EuroLeague.

White is coming off a solid season playing overseas with a dominant Lithuanian squad Zalgiris that has won the Lithuanian League the past two seasons and finished in the EuroLeague Final Four in the 2017-2018 season. As a reserve player off the bench, White averaged 8.9 points in 22.2 minutes per game on 58.% shooting.

Aaron White is not giving away anything on Twitter as of yet but he did post a pretty interesting tweet.

The news broke early this morning which effectively ends speculation of him being in the NBA this year, but either way it’s incredibly exciting for him.

Until then, we can look forward to seeing the former Iowa basketball star play in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) beginning next week when White plays for Team Hines in the Greensboro Regional.

Team Hines is the number one seed in the Greensboro original and they will face off against team Boo Wiliams Friday, July 19th.

Next. Hawkeye superlatives heading into 2019. dark

Congratulations Aaron!
