Fred Russell

Fred Russell was the leading rusher of the 2002 Iowa football team as he gained 1,264 rushing yards on 220 carries while reaching the end zone 9 times. Just a junior, Russell would go on to be an integral part of the 2003 Outback Bowl Champion team the following year as a senior.

He added 1,355 more yards on the ground while also serving as one of the team captains for the 2003 Hawkeyes. He was named First Team All-Big Ten in 2002 and Second Team All-Big Ten in 2003.

After college, Russel spent time with the Dolphins, Bears, and Rams, but he never registered a single NFL carry. He also briefly spent time in the Canadian Football League and NFL Europe.

When his professional career was finished, Russell spent time working as a trainer in a gym before beginning a career in the logistics industry.

Russell currently resides in Michigan and is active on Twitter and Instagram.
