I am a big believer in the “look good, play good” philosophy and the only game they have lost wearing these is the Iowa State game back in 2012. The 2017 blackout jerseys for the Ohio State game had all the players mentally ready to play their best and it showed in dominating fashion.
Alternate uniforms have been a regular thing for Kirk Ferentz in the last decade to help attract recruits and it appears to be working as he’s putting the finishing touches on one of his best-recruiting classes in 2020.
