Elijah Yelverton

Elijah Yelverton has already committed to the class of 2020 and despite a 3-star ranking, was a highly touted prospect who garnered 32 offers. At 6’5” and 225 pounds he has a little bit more weight to gain, but that’s what Chris Doyle is for.

His film is solid and shows a versatile offensive weapon who is experienced moving all around the field, lining up in-line, as an H-back, or split out wide. He showed good hands and a willingness to block on plays where he wasn’t the first option or when his high school was running the ball.

In talking to Yelverton, you could tell he had a good head on his shoulders, and he cannot wait to be an Iowa football player, but what I liked the most is that was enjoying every moment of his high school athletic career yet with an eye to the future.

He was looking forward to trying to get on the field and build a connection with #Swarm20 quarterback Deuce Hogan in advance of getting to Iowa City, and he’s using this summer as an opportunity to put on my weight in preparation for his early enrollment with the Hawks.
