Sean Considine

Sean Considine is one of the few former Iowa football players to become a Super Bowl Champion, and one of the rare football players to leave on top twice.

As a member of the Iowa football team, Considine was a fantastic safety on Kirk Ferentz’s defensive unit and an integral part of the 2004 season that culminated in a Capital One Bowl victory.

Leaving on top, he was drafted in the fourth round by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he embarked on an 8-year journeymen career in the NFL. He started 28 games in 8 seasons for 5 different teams and finished his career with 4 total interceptions.

What’s most impressive about his NFL career though is in his last season, with the Baltimore Ravens, he was able to hoist the Lombardi Trophy as a Super Bowl Champion.

After the win, he moved back to his hometown of Byron, Illinois where he managed to stay busy running a meat market food truck called Headon and Considine’s Market delivering fresh meats to folks in the community. A year ago, he got out of the game though and has been helping out his local high school as an assistant coach.
