Former Iowa basketball player Megan Gustafson is now in the WNBA, and there are a few chances fans could watch her in person this season with the Wings.

I believe I speak for all Iowa basketball fans when I say it was sad to watch Megan Gustafson player her last game just over a month ago in the NCAA Tournament. She defied all odds through a tenacious work effort to become the greatest women’s player in the history of the school.

This work ethic and dedication ultimately led the small-town Wisconsin girl to fulfill a lifelong dream of playing professional basketball when she fell in the second round to the Dallas Wings of the 2019 WNBA Draft.

As can be expected given the dedicated Iowa basketball fanbase, fans want to watch Gustafson as she prepares for the next stage of her exciting career.

Unfortunately, it’s not exactly easy to catch WNBA games on TV.

However, there are opportunities for fans to catch a live glimpse of Gustafson in action as the Dallas Wings have some games within driving distance of the state of Iowa.

Each WNBA team plays 34 games with 17 of those on the road, and the Wings play two games in Chicago and one game in Minnesota.

Sunday, July 7 at 5 PM: Dallas Wings @ Chicago Sky (Wintrust Arena)

Thursday, August 22nd at 7 PM: Dallas Wings @ Minnesota Lynx (Target Center)

Thursday, August 29th at 7 PM: Dallas Wings @ Chicago Sky (Wintrust Arena)

This means Gustafson will be within four hours driving distance of Iowa City three times over the next three months.

Ticket prices are as low as $17 for each of these games so the cost of attending would be relatively minimal, and Fanatics.com offers an opportunity to represent Gustafson with a custom Wings jersey.

Hopefully, by that time, Gustafson has worked her way into the rotation and garnering valuable minutes for the Wings.
