Iowa feels good about its corner position with returning starters but could add someone to fill a void
Starting with the corner position Iowa will return 4 players that saw playing time last year and could definitely see it again next year. Hawkeyes will have Michael Ojemudia, Matt Hankins, Riley Moss and a guy that I like, Julius Brents. Ojemudia and Hankins carried most of the load at the corner position last year but dealt with some injuries. Hankins started in 8 games but missed 5 of them due to injury. Even though Ojemudia played in 13 games last he dealt with injury as well and is still recovering.
Defensive coordinator and secondaries coach, Phil Parker has really liked what he has seen from Hankins this spring:
"He understands the game of football and has grown as a leader and be a part of that leadership that we need as a whole on the defensive side."
Whether or not Ojemudia or Hankins can hold off two rising sophomores remains to be seen, but Phil Parker will try to get all four guys on the field as they are each too talented to remain on the sideline.
