The Iowa basketball team has one scholarship spot currently open. Here are three transfers who could make a huge impact on the Hawks.

The Iowa basketball team lost three scholarship players at the conclusion of the season. Star forward Tyler Cook entered the draft and intends to stay there while reserve guard Maishe Dailey transferred to Akron. Meanwhile, do-it-all senior forward Nicholas Baer has graduated.

With two recruits coming in next year (Joe Toussaint and Patrick McCaffery), there is still one scholarship spot open on the roster. While traditionally the Iowa basketball team hasn’t really stuck their necks out on the transfer market (aside from Jarrod Uthoff), things could be different this time around.

Despite concerns from Iowa basketball fans, Fran McCaffery has built this program to be a contender next year and for the coming years with talented players across the roster and up and down through the classes. Adding a transfer player would provide either an immediate boost next season to a team that is expected to to loosely contend for a national title or provide firepower the following season when the Iowa basketball team graduates three seniors (Jordan Bohannon, Isaiah Moss, and Ryan Kriener), and could possibly see two others depart for the NBA (Luka Garza and Joe Wieskamp).

Interestingly enough, the Iowa basketball team has actually been connected to a few transfers as well making this all the more realistic of a scenario to play out.

Here are our three transfers the Iowa basketball team should or could be looking at.
