The 2019 NFL Draft is over, and there were a ton of surprises. Here are the three biggest surprises for the Iowa football program.

Every single NFL Draft there are honestly too many shocks, twists, and turns to keep up with, and the 2019 NFL Draft was no different. It started with pick number four when the Oakland Raiders took Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell fourth overall, continued when the Giants significantly reached for Daniel Jones at pick number six and kept going as teams traded back, traded up, reached for players, or had incredibly talented players fall right in their laps (hello New England Patriots and Michigan’s Chase Winovich).

The NFL Draft’s mantra should be to expect the unexpected, and that applies quite aptly to the Iowa football program. With four early entrants and ten seniors looking to find their NFL homes, there were bound to be a few things that made us shake our heads or wonder what the heck was happening.

With just the Iowa football program there were enough surprising developments that we decided to make a list of our top surprises. Here they are.
