Jake Duzey

Duzey would be an intriguing pickup for an upstart Iowa AAF team for two reasons. First, he wasn’t as revered among Iowa football fans as some of the other guys on this list (that’s not to say fans didn’t love the guy, but he just didn’t have as much time to grow his legend). Secondly, he was already rumored to have signed with the Birmingham Iron in the AAF but is no longer listed on their roster.

In doing research, there are no clues as to what happened. Maybe he didn’t pass the medical exam? Or maybe he didn’t want to move to Birmingham? Maybe Birmingham decided to pass on the former Iowa football tight end after all?

Either way, if he is healthy, he would make a great addition to a local Iowa AAF team.

Despite never getting the opportunity to truly show what he could do after spending five years in the Iowa football program, he did have a solid junior season catching 36 passes for 392 yards, which is significantly better than any season Duzey’s replacement, George Kittle, had in his time with the Hawks.

Now look at Kittle, he’s an NFL stud.

Would Duzey be able to show he is healthy and has the skill set that has most NFL scouts salivating over all Hawkeye tight end prospects?
