4. Amani Hooker

Amani Hooker is pretty easy to remember considering he is the most recent Iowa football to appear on the list.

Hooker just capped off quite the career in the black and gold by winning the Tatum-Woodson Defensive Back of the Year award, being named First Team All-Big Ten and being named an All-American.

He was truly a jack of all trades as a safety for the Hawks, playing their “cash” role which is essentially a dime-backer spot. Hooker’s presence on the defense was a large reason why the Hawks were ranked within the top ten defensively throughout the season and why the Hawks were comfortable moving to a more modern 4-2-5 defense.

During his career, the Minnesota native totaled 125 tackles, one sack, six interceptions, and seven passes defensed.

His stellar play provided him the opportunity to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.
