Position Battle #4: Interior offensive line

The Iowa football team is losing senior center Keegan Render and senior guard Ross Reynolds, both first year starters to graduation this year. Looking to fill these newly open spots is just a handful of players.

Current backup guards, twins Landan and Levi Paulsen look to compete for Reynolds old spot while at center, the Iowa football team is hoping newly converted defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum can pick up the position quickly.

Kirk Ferentz had this to say about Linderbaum as a player.

"He’s just a really good football player, and the tenacity he shows on the wrestling mat, he showed it in football last year, too. He brought it with him. I mean, that’s who he is. He’s really serious, and he’s got a lot of pride. He’s going to do just fine. We’re really happy about that."

Another intriguing option is having the Paulsen twins battle it out for the guard spot, having Linderbaum playing center, and having four-star tackles Ezra Miller and Tyler Endres checking in and getting some spot playing time.
