The Iowa football team is taking on the #18 Bulldogs in the Outback Bowl tomorrow. Here’s the streaming, odds, and other key game info you need to know.

The 2019 Outback Bowl is finally here after a long month of no Iowa football. In fact, we haven’t seen the Iowa football team take the field since the Hawkeyes thrilling last second victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Black Friday.

Kickoff for tomorrow’s matchup is set for 11 AM Central Standard Time and will be taking place at Raymond James Stadium (home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) in Tampa, Florida. If you’re in the area, you can still get tickets for just $47, but if you are like most folks who will be watching from home, you can find the game airing on ESPN2. If you don’t have access to cable television, you can also stream the game on ESPN+ with our special free 7-day trial.

While many think this will be a defensive struggle, including us, oddsshark.com has the over/under set at 41, which while low, still does not account for the fact that these two teams allowed a combined 29 points per game this season. Moreover, oddsshark has Mississippi State favored to win by seven points as of right now. If I were a betting man, I would absolutely be taking the Hawks in this one.

While Nick Fitzgerald, Mississippi State’s star quarterback, presents a problem for the Iowa defense as a dual-threat quarterback, the Hawks have shown they can typically prepare a solid enough game plan to handle players of his caliber.

Offensively, the Hawkeyes will have their work cut out for them going up against the nation’s best defense, and it won’t help that they’ll be missing one key player and that is Noah Fant, who declared for the NFL Draft earlier this month.

As we alluded to in an earlier article, it’s tough for me to see how Brian Ferentz can get the offense going against a team that allowed just 24 points to Alabama, but it’ll be fun to see what he can do.

Tomorrow’s game could be a catalyst for a historically great offensive showing by Nate Stanley and the Iowa football offense in 2019.
