Teams 1-2

Nothing has changed from last week. Wisconsin remains at number two despite controlling their own destiny in the Big Ten picture.

2. Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers are coming off a well-played game against lowly Illinois. The Badgers absolutely dominated the Illini on the ground and Pro Football Focus noticed. Every single offensive lineman for the Badgers made PFF’s Big Ten Team of the Week.

Next weekend the Badgers take on the Northwestern Wildcats in what could be considered a trap game for a Badger team that struggles to close out bad teams.

1. Iowa Hawkeyes

Needless to say after a big win over Maryland at Kinnick, the Iowa football team remains in the top spot in the Big Ten West. Unlike some of these other teams, they need a little bit of help though to take ownership of the division as Wisconsin currently owns the tie breaker.

Despite being in second in the division race right now, the Iowa football team is the lone Big Ten West team that still has a shot at the College Football Playoffs.

Next. Iowa Hawkeyes midseason MVPs. dark

With a win this week over Penn State, the Hawkeyes will have survived the toughest game left on the schedule and ready to take on Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, and Nebraska to close out the season.
