We are 24 hours from the big game featuring the Iowa football program taking on the Iowa State football program. Here is everything you need to know.
Historical Kinnick Stadium only holds 69,250 people meaning many of you will be watching Iowa football at home or at a bar or maybe even on your laptop. I will be one of the many that is unable to attend this rivalry game in person. Don’t worry though because we have you covered with everything you need to know about how to watch the game, what the betting odds are you for gamblers out there, and if you are fortunate enough to attend in person, what the weather will be like.
The Iowa Hawkeyes will take on the Iowa State Cyclones at 4 PM at Kinnick Stadium this Saturday, September 8. The weather appears to be much better than last week when the Midwest got pelted with storms leading up to the game and following the game. A beautiful 70 degree Iowa day is in store for all of the attendees and tailgaters.
For those of you unable to attend, there are a few ways to catch the game. Fortunately, unlike last week’s game where many of you had to deal with a snafu with the Big Ten Network, this game will be featured on Fox National Television.
If you don’t have access to a tv, however, you can stream the game live on FuboTv.
While you are streaming that game, if you feel like catching game-breaking analysis by the writers at Dear Old Gold follow our twitter account @DearOldGold.
Heading into this game, many of us Hawkeye fans expect the Iowa football team to win against their bitter rival, the Iowa State Cyclones. Lucky for us, Vegas is on our side. Current odds have the Hawkeyes favored to win by 3.5 points. Additionally, the over/under for the game is set at a low 47 points.
Considering both teams scored over 40 points in last year’s matchup, I’m not 100% sure what the gambling sites are looking at. If the Hawkeyes passing attack comes alive like they should, we could see a significantly higher score game than that.
After the game, we will be providing you detailed analysis of what we saw in the Hawkeye’s second game of the 2018 season including a recap, top standouts, and opportunities for improvement. Let’s go Hawks!
